Chapter 734 720: Turning the Tables (Part 6)

Chapter 734 720: Turning the Tables (Part 6)

"Thud!" The subordinate fell heavily to the ground, quickly soaking the floor with blood. He Lei's explosive shout followed:

"Anyone who wants to live, damn it, stop right now!"

He Lei's voice was truly earth-shattering, probably heard throughout the entire building. Because of his shout, both sides, who were grappling with each other, stopped and turned their heads to look in his direction.

He Lei still had the appearance of a drunken man, gulping beer down his throat one after another, though the gun in his hand was still faintly emitting black smoke.

"Damn it! Are you posing for me?" Seeing everyone standing there dumbfounded, staring at him, He Lei couldn't help but burst into fury. He pointed at Qiao Shan and said, "I told them to stop, not you guys. Hurry up and tie them up for me!"

"Yes, yes, yes! Brother Lei, didn't you hear what Brother Lei said? Tie them all up!"

He Lei shook his head in frustration and cursed, "Useless, all damn useless!"

As Qiao Shan was commanding his men to tie up the five intruders, a call came through on one of their hand-held radios.

"Hey, what was that noise upstairs just now? Is something wrong? Over!"

Qiao Shan quickly searched the person for the hand-held radio, then glanced at He Lei for guidance: "Brother Lei, what should we do?"

"Damn it, what a headache! Can't even have a drink in peace!" He Lei slammed the bottle on the table heavily, got up, and walked toward the guard carrying the radio.

Once he got close, he signaled Qiao Shan and others to back off, then grabbed the guard by the hair and bent down to ask, "Want to live?"

"Yes, yes, yes!" The guard was terrified, nodding repeatedly in fear.

"Then do you know what to do?"

"I..."

"Bang!" He Lei shot towards the ceiling, then pointed the gun at the guard's head and asked, "Do you know what to do now?"

"Yes!" Tears of fright trickled down the guard's face, nodding as fast as an electric motor.

"Alright, you handle it!" After dealing with this, He Lei tossed the nearly fainting guard at Qiao Shan and walked slowly to the window, quietly lifting a corner of the curtain to observe downstairs.

"Hey, why aren't you responding? Is something wrong? Over!"

"Should we go up and check?"

"Wait, shouldn't be a big deal, right?"

"Yeah, leaving the front gate unattended could be a mess. If something happens while we're gone, we're all in deep trouble."

The whispered discussion among the gate guards was clearly transmitted through the radio. Hearing their intention to come up, Qiao Shan dared not delay. He pulled the guard closer, hitting his face with a gun handle a few times and said viciously, "You want to live? Then be smart, I don't care what you do, just stop them from coming up or you're dead."

After saying this, Qiao Shan placed the radio near the guard's ear, signaling him to speak.

The guard, afraid of Qiao Shan's gun pointed at his head, adjusted his mood, knowing his next words were vital for his survival, so he dared not be careless. He tried to make his words sound as normal as possible.

"Damn it, what's all the fuss? Just now, Brother Lei got angry and even fired his gun. Your constant contact almost got me killed. Over!"

"Oh! What happened? Is it that serious? Over!"

"It's still about what happened in the morning. Alright, no more questions. Just keep watch over the gate and don't screw up. Brother Lei and Brother Yang are both furious. Mess up and you might get shot. Over."

"Got it, just be careful. Over!"

After the call ended, Qiao Shan retrieved the radio and glanced at He Lei. The latter, after looking downstairs for a while and confirming no movement, nodded and sat back on the sofa.

"Big...brother, I've done what you said. Can you let me...

"Let you go? Haha!" Qiao Shan said with a sinister smile, "You think I have a say? Brother Lei decides. Beg him!"

"Bring this group in front of Brother Lei!"

"Yes!"

The five guards lined up, all kneeling on the ground, waiting for their judgment.

He Lei glanced over them, the intent to kill growing stronger. Coupled with the influence of alcohol, it made one worry he'd start shooting indiscriminately.

Faced with life and death, the five guards couldn't care about anything else. They begged pitifully, "Brother Lei, we're all your own brothers. What happened downstairs was beyond our control. Please, don't hold it against us underlings and spare us."

The guards had no clue why He Lei was targeting them. Naively, they thought he was still angry about Yang Buwei's previous insults. So they made this misguided plea.

Little did they know their words hit a sore spot for He Lei, who expressed his attitude by throwing a bottle.

"Ouch!" The bottle hitting the head was painful, especially when the thrower was a brute like He Lei.

"Ouch, my ass. Own brothers? Haha, don't make me laugh. You think you deserve to call me brother?"

"Bang bang!" Just as He Lei was about to lash out at the guards, a few gunshots from upstairs interrupted him.

Before He Lei could respond, Qiao Shan dashed out of the room to check and confirmed, "Brother Lei, it should be our top-floor guys engaging the enemy."

"Damn it!" He Lei got up and headed outside, saying as he walked, "Qiao Shan, take four people to guard the second-floor stairs. With all this commotion, those fools downstairs will definitely act. You two stay here and keep a sharp eye on them, don't let them escape again. Got it?"

"Got it!"

"Brother Lei, shouldn't we send someone to check the top floor too?"

"No need. I'll go myself. You two follow me."

After assigning the tasks, He Lei and two subordinates quickly moved upstairs, but his aim wasn't the top floor; he needed to first check the third floor's status before deciding.

Upon entering the third-floor corridor, a strong stench of blood hit them, making He Lei frown slightly. He raised his gun and aimed forward.

"I'm He Lei. If you're alive, come out and say something."

"Hey, Brother Lei! You're here! Ah!" Within seconds, a head peeked out from a door crack but quickly drew back, scared off by He Lei's gun muzzle, reflexively reacting.

But in those few seconds, He Lei saw clearly, noticed it was his men, and breathed a sigh of relief. He lowered his gun and called, "What are you afraid of? Damn it, look, it's me! Did you handle your task?"

"Brother Lei, all sorted. Three of them, one dead, the other two tied up inside. How do you want to deal with them?" Miao Wei, responsible for the corridor, reported. He Lei nodded, "Alright, leave them for now, deal with them altogether later!"

"Brother Lei, it seems our guys upstairs are in trouble. Should we go lend a hand?" Peng Fei, aware of earlier scolding from He Lei, eagerly wanted to redeem himself.

"No worries. With just three kids upstairs, they can't stir anything big up now. Leave four to take the two inside downstairs, the rest follow me to meet those three guys on the top floor."

"Got it!" (To be continued. If you like this work, welcome to vote for recommendation or monthly tickets on Qidian (qidian.com), your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please go to m.qidian.com to read.)
