Chapter 1051 - 432: Return (Part 2)
Chapter 1051 - 432: Return (Part 2)
"There’s a merchant ship, seems like it’s from some guild on Gemini Island; I think I’ve seen that logo before," Jason said as he squinted at the distant sailboat.
"Looks like we’re about to reach Gemini Island soon," Alka breathed a sigh of relief at this sight.
Finally, returning to Gemini Island.
Chadite took out his notebook and some measuring tools, glanced at them, and said, "Soon, we’ll arrive by tomorrow at the latest."
Upon hearing that, everyone couldn’t help but smile, as they’re finally approaching the island after being at sea for far too long.
...
The next day, just as the dawn’s curtain was lifted.
Alka and his companions were nearing Gemini Island.
You could already see the expansive island and the busy ships traveling nearby from afar.
It was here that these often sea-bound wanderers felt like they were back in a bustling zone.
The passing boats and the various sounds made them feel a sense of familiarity.
This time, there was no circling around, they easily found their way directly to Gemini Island’s entrance, navigating straight to the central harbor.
As soon as the ship docked at the shore, a squad outside approached them.
"Alka?"
A three-man team was led by someone handling a floating pen and notebook.
Alka leaned his head over the side of the ship to take a look.
"Kante, long time no see. Is it your duty today?"
They were familiar faces from the Church.
"It’s really you guys, it’s been ages since I’ve seen you. I thought you had left for faraway places by now."
Such events are common at sea, not to mention for a Treasure Hunting Team like Alka’s, it’s definitely normal.
After all, for the entire Endless Sea, Gemini Island doesn’t even rank within the top 10 of prosperous islands.
Yet, it is still far more flourishing than the vast majority of islands.
"We’ve been to farther places, but we still need to come here; we’re quite familiar with this place," Alka said with a smile.
"Seeing you back safe is reassuring, so I won’t hold you up any longer."
Kante said, pressing a safety mark at the ship’s bow.
Although Alka and his team had docked, they didn’t immediately disembark; instead, they gathered in the captain’s room.
"Although we’ve docked, let’s take care of some necessary things. We might spend quite a long time on Gemini Island this time.
Firstly, the materials we needed before are in your hands, Simon," Alka said to Simon.
Simon nodded; these were materials meant for treasures they haven’t crafted yet, as the ship’s supplies were truly running low.
A substantial procurement was imminent.
"And we need to replenish supplies for the Vastva people, Chadite, you’ll handle this."
Chadite nodded as well.
"Everyone else can rest and unwind; it’s rare to come back, after all."
After discussing some details, the meeting adjourned.
The human-transformed Ulu Liwus directly grabbed Jason and jumped off the ship, heading straight into the island.
Ulu Liwus of old couldn’t roam freely on Gemini Island, being a giant dragon. Though Gemini Island was bustling with sufficient military power, the majority were still commoners who couldn’t bear a dragon flying overhead.
In her human form now, she was peculiar-looking but vastly more acceptable than before. On Gemini Island, there’s a multitude of people with unique appearances; even Puppet Girls won’t cause much of a stir here.
The team engaged in their own activities; Alka took the Treasure Box and headed straight to the Church, it contained the long-stored Scythe of the Harvest.
It’s about time this treasure was returned.
"Alka? When did you return?"
As soon as Alka entered the church, a familiar face spotted him and asked in surprise.
"Just arrived, is the Archbishop in?"
Upon hearing the question, the person shook his head, "Thought you weren’t coming back, the Archbishop seems to be upstairs, but I’m not sure, you can ask around."
As he said this, a guard beside them immediately interjected, "He’s upstairs."
"Thanks, I’ve got matters to attend to."
Alka said and carried the box, heading directly upstairs. No longer needing a guide like before, he straightaway arrived at the inner reception room most likely to house the Archbishop and knocked on the door.
"Come in."
The unique low-pitched voice of the Archbishop came from inside.
Alka pushed the door open and entered.
The Archbishop was buried in paperwork, writing something without even lifting his head.
After about 10 seconds, he finally lifted his head to see who had arrived.
"Alka? You’re finally back, I was worried you’d run off with the treasure; that’d be hard to explain."
The Archbishop stood up, pushed his chair back, and said with a cheerful smile.
Upon hearing this, Alka smiled back.
"No way, I’m not one to be untrustworthy."
Then he stepped forward and shared a brief hug with the Archbishop.
The Archbishop observed Alka now.
He shook his head, revealing a curious expression.
"Truly impressive, how long has it been since we last met?"
"Almost three years, or over three years perhaps?"
"Indeed, it’s been so long. Seems lengthy yet feels fleeting at the same time."
The Archbishop mused, then looked at Alka, "The last time you were still at the Fourth Stage, and now you’re already at the Fifth Stage."
